Summary on Grant Application Form
The research is aimed at developing low inertia, high performance roller systems with enhanced dynamic and position control capabilities for use in sheet product handling machines. The roller systems is based around a brushless permanent magnet motor with a magnetic composite external rotor. The technology will have relevance not only to all industries in which sheet products are printed, coated or otherwise processed, but also to electrical drives for a variety of applications.
