Summary on Grant Application Form
Our first aim is to construct and operate a CRESU (Cintique Ractions en Ecoulement Supersonique Uniforme) apparatus in order to study the kinetics and dynamics of molecular processes at temperatures down to ca 10 K. These include:1. Reactions between atomic and diatomic free radicals.2. State-to-state, collisionally-induced, rotational and vibrational energy transfer.3. The formation of weakly bound complexes. The results of (1) and (2) will have important implications for astrochemistry and astronomy.
