Summary on Grant Application Form
The energy effectiveness, autonomy and economic viability of gas-fired micro-CHP systems in domestic sector applications are limited by the irregularity of the user's demands for space-heating, hot-water and especially electricity. This proposed research project aims to establish (i) detailed data on electrical-load profiles for (groups of) houses and (ii) identify technological means for ensuring the thermal and electrical energy-requirements placed on a bespoke micro-CHP system may become substantially less peaky than occurs today.
