|
The aim of the study is to improve the methods by which stated preference experiments are designed in order to allow better estimates to be obtained. This covers a number of issues.- More detailed analysis of SERC funded PhD research at ITS to show the efficiency gains to be achieved by following improved design procedures in the case of a three variable model.- Extension of the analysis to develop improved design procedures for the more general cases involving more than three attributes.- Analysis of the extent to which non-orthogonal designs can improve the efficiency of estimates; in particular, determining the extent to which correlation between attributes can improve the variance of target relative valuations (ratios of co-efficients) for models more general than the two-attribute plus constant case.- Solving design problems specific to the priority evaluator technique.- An examination of the possibilities of avoiding the design problem by alternative methods of analysis of SP choice data.
