Research topics include cooperative behaviour; statistical mechanics; quantum and conformal field theory; disordered, frustrated, incommensurate and quasicrystalline systems; dynamics; driven systems; non-equilibrium systems; self-organised criticality; complexity; fractals; wetting; polymers; magnetism; superconductivity; semiconductors; surfaces and interfaces; glasses; heterostructures; Jahn-Teller behaviour; quantum transport; quantised Hall effect.Integration of the above with experimental and other theoretical programmes in Britain and overseas.
