Summary on Grant Application Form |
1 To investigate the scope and limitations of the Ramberg- Backlund route to monocyclic episulphones and alkenes.2 To optimise and extend the episulphone anion trapping reactions and to utilise these as part of a versatile new procedure for alkene synthesis.3 To apply this methodology to the synthesis of natural products and compounds of biological interest (eg Brefeldins, novel unsaturated amino acids, novel carbovir analogues).
