Summary on Grant Application Form |
(1) To extend the pyrlium methodology for stereoselective dienal synthesis with respect to the organometallic reagent and the pyrlium salt in order to prepare substituted dienals and dienones. (2) To devise versatile new routes to pyrlium salts via radical addition and Diels-Alder processes.(3) To study other synthetic applications of the pyran intermediate including cycloaddition reactions.(4) To apply the newly-developed chemistry to the synthesis of targets of biological importance.
