Summary on Grant Application Form
We propose to extend our analytical and computational work on the spectral theory of second order differential and difference operators to Hamiltonian systems. This would include developing(i) Algorithms and resulting computer codes, to compute the M matrix for Hamiltonian systems;(ii)a theory of integral and series inequalities, similar to the HELP inequality, for Hamiltonian systems and to use the numerical work developed in (i) to compute examples;(iii) algorithms, using interval arithmetic, which will compute provable estimates for the results of (i) and (ii).
