The objectives of this project are to achieve quantitative understanding of hollow waveguides for the transmission of high quality and high power CO2 laser beams; based on this fundamental knowledge and in collaboration with the industrial partner, to develop design of practical fibre beam delivery systems for applications in laser material processing.
