Summary on Grant Application Form
The project will develop a numerical modelling facility for the prediction of surface profiles of spin-coated sol-gel glasses intended for passive and active optical waveguide networks. Surface-wave theory will be combined with existing theories of spin-coating modelling, and the results will be proved against a considerable quantity experimental data recently acquired.
