Summary on Grant Application Form
The aim of the work is to try to understand the syntax of the messages exchanged in networks of small numbers of neurons. This will be done using extra-cellular electrodes and guiding structures which define the topography of the network embodied in a structure with nanometric dimensions and made by the microelectronic fabrication techniques. The result will be of importance in developmental biology and the design of microelectrodes.
