1) To investigate the use of artificial neural networks in the classification of quality assurance (QA) data obtained from ultrasonic tests on metal-adhesive-metal joints.2) To deliver algorithms for detection of front or back disbonds, cure state, bond thickness, and some aspects of bond line geometry.3) To use neural network methods to gain a better understanding of the physical bases of bond QA by ultrasound.
