Summary on Grant Application Form
The aim of the research is to examine how to control and exploit barrel swirl induced turbulence in spark ignition engines by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and experimental techniques. This should lead to an identification of the optimum conditions required for the development of combustion systems giving improved economy and reduced emissions.
