Summary on Grant Application Form
To develop a method of modelling non-linear subsystems from time domain measurements. To develop a suitable method of time domain measurements. To develop an algorithm for the subsystem modelling from the terminal behavioural characteristics. To use the developed models in simulating entire systems.Progress:Achievements to date are:A versatile time domain measurements facility have been acquired and developed to suit the purpose of the project. Two algorithms for the identification of linear and nonlinear subsystems have been developed. One algorithm is based on the nonlinear state-space formulation and the other is based on including nonlinear functions in transversal and non-transversal filter circuits. The algorithms have been applied to measured time domain data of filters, nonlinear amplifiers, mixers and oscillators. Entire communication systems have been simulated and the results were compared with measured ones. Four conference papers have been presented. One journal paper is under preparation.
