Summary on Grant Application Form
To develop new heterogeneous metal catalysts which contain active sites having a chiral quality and the potential to facilitate enantioselective reaction. Such catalysts will be developed by application of the recently demonstrated process of conformational selection in reactant adsorption, and by testing the new concept of conformational orientation or selection on reactant approach to the catalyst site. Chiral catalysts so produced will be tested for a range of reactions capable of exhibiting enantioselectivity.
