Summary on Grant Application Form
Decorticated linseed straw fibres and similar crops will be characterised and techniques developed for manufacturing products for a variety of end use. Carding and needling machine parameters will be optimised to produce nonwoven textiles with various densities and constructions; new processing routes for spinning seed flax fibre will be investigated. Technological information will be transferred to our industrial partners for construction of a pilot plant.
