Summary on Grant Application Form
The solubility and rate of dissolution of zirconia and alumina, in synthetic mould fluxes, will be measured. The mould fluxes will be based on the system SiO2-CaO-Al2O3-Na2O-CaF2 and the effect of varying Al2O3, Na2O and CaF2 will be studied. Measurements will be compared with commercial fluxes and used to explain SEN attack.
