Summary on Grant Application Form
We propose to investigate the dHvA effect in the mixed state of a type II superconductor. Four systems are identified for investigation; the layered quasi-2D compound 2H-NBSe2, the A15 materials and in particular V3Si, the heavy fermion superconductor UBe13 and the doped fullerene K3C60. We shall aim to interpret the results to yield information on the field distribution in the vortex state, the order parameter, the normal Fermi liquid state and the presence and symmetry of zeros in the gap function over the Fermi surface. We shall have to stimulate over the Fermi surface. We shall hope to stimulate further theoretical work in this area.
