Summary on Grant Application Form
To provide detailed understanding of the following processes in lean-burn SI engines:1. The influence of turbulence structure on flame kernel development.2. The nature of turbulent flow in the regions compressed by a propagating flame front and behind it from inception to impingement on the combustion chamber walls.3. The extent to which fuel mixture preparation methods can minimise cyclic variations.
