Summary on Grant Application Form
To provide an improved understanding of continuous impregnation processes for composites where a tow of fibres is drawn over a pin in the presence of the matrix. The work will involve experimental studies of fibre pin interactions in the presence of thermoplastic and thermosetting resins as well as model fluids. The process will be modelled mathematically using lubrication theory.
