Summary on Grant Application Form
To elucidate the detailed mechanism of trimerisation of aryl cyanates to tris-2,4,6- aryloxy- 1,3,5-triazines.To determine the mechanistic pathway whereby the alkenyl groups on the triazine ring react with bis-maleimides.To model the cyanate ester cyclotrimerisation mechanism and subsequent co-polymerisation reaction with maleimides and reconcile this with the data obtained from spectroscopic measurements.
