Summary on Grant Application Form
To obtain a detailed understanding of the behaviour of the novel material microstructures, fabricated by this group, that have a negative Poisson's ratio, so as to optimise their performance. To model the behaviour of new, theoretical microstructures that are candidates for fabrication and determine which are most promising. To obtain a better understanding of the interactions that take place within materials that show a negative Poisson's ratio.
