Summary on Grant Application Form
To investigate bimodal post stall behaviour on wind turbine rotor blades through full scale field measurements using a pressure instrumented rotor blade installed on the Windharvester 45/60 KW horizontal axis wind turbine at RAL. A better understanding of this effect will enable stall regulated rotors to be designed with greater confidence, leading to savings in rotor weight and control gear and to reduced energy production costs.
