Summary on Grant Application Form
Specific objectives based on conditional sampling techniques; responses of near-wall and outer-layer coherent structures to extra strain rate caused by a curved surface and relaxation behaviour of these perturbed structures on the downstream flat surface. Aspects to be investigated:a) mechanism for generation of near-wall streaky and streamwise vortex structures and subsequent bursting.b) scaling law of bursting structure.c) outer-layer large-scale structures.d) possible coupling mechanism between inner- and outer-layer structures.
