Synthesis of new sterically hindered chalco-genolato ligands, synthesis and structural characterisation of chalcogenide complexes of (i) group II metals, (ii) transition metals, (iii) main group metal complexes. Use as precursors for low-pressure deposition of metal chalcogenide films, including construction of improved low-pressure MOCVD apparatus. Film characterisation in collaboration with RSRE Malvern.
