Ii) The development of a novel electron microscope optimised for studying the magnetic and physical microstructure of modern magnetic materials through a range of imaging and analytical techniques together with in-situ experimentation. ii) its application to thin alloy films and multilayers, magnetic particles and bulk materials covering the range from fundamental physics studies to practical deice material.
