Summary on Grant Application Form
Synthesis and characterisation of themotropic and lyotropic polymeric discotic liquid crystals designed to incorporate large concentrations of dopants which will impart novel anistropic electronic, photo-induced electronic, and electrolytic conductivities. Cross-linking of the flexible chains will, for example, lead to elastomeric films with stress-dependent conductivities.
