Summary on Grant Application Form
The aim of this research is to investigate the optimum microstructure and mechanical properties of a ceramic/ceramic composite for wear resistance. Detailed analytical transmission electron microscopy will be used on cross sectional worn specimens to evaluate the effect of reinforcement/matrix interface, reinforcement loading and residual stresses on wear.
