|
The Gordon Conference in Superconductivity is one of the preeminent meetings of high level experts in this field. This meeting oscillates in venue between the US and the UK every 18 months. Rather than a huge international meeting, it is a small conference (<140 people) of the top experts in superconductivity research. The topics will include continued advances in all fields of superconductivity, but as well as the high-temperature superconductivity research, there are a number of breaking stories: MgB2; superconductivity near the magnetic phase boundary (UGe2, Fe); quantum coherence in superconducting devices, real-space crystallization of superconducting pairs, superconductivity upto 20 K in pure lithium, superconductivity in frustrated anti-ferromagnetic lattices, like NaxCo_2_yH 2 O. In addition recently single atomic superconducting films have been produced and d-wave technology has matured to a level where large scale superconducting integrated circuits can be produced routinely.
