Summary on Grant Application Form |
The Electroceramics group at Manchester Materials Science Centre is led by 3 academics. It has a unique portfolio of activities in functional electroceramics combined with the development and exploitation of a range of generic characterisation techniques at length scales from nano to meso (from atomic lattice to bulk materiao. The Platform Grant will be used to provide stability and establish longer term support for our broad based research in electroceramics. This wig be achieved by providing bridging support for research staff in key areas including: Bulk Characterisation Techniques; In situ Analytical Techniques; Local Property Measurement and Analysis (at grain to grain scale within microstructure); Microstructure Engineering; Modeling, and Simulation. The continuity of funding will allow us to rapidly undertake feasibility studies, through the use of existing experienced staff with key skills and expertise. The grant will enable us to take a more strategic approach to our own research, and the development of international research and training links.
