Summary on Grant Application Form |
In the face of global and time-based competition both academics and industrialists have demonstrated a growing preoccupation with 'process Innovation', for successfully developing new products and services to reap competitive advantage. It is in this context that different research communities have begun to illustrate the importance of 'Innovation networks' in developing new products, but to date this area remains under researched. Amidst constant change, organisations are becoming Increasingly reliant on networks of interconnected and multi-disciplined product development teams. Consequently the need for and value of empirical research on innovation networks becomes indisputable. Therefore the aim of the proposed research is To understand the impact of innovation networks upon process innovation through the creation of social and intellectual capital, In the context of new product development in the pharmaceuticals industry .With the Industrial collaborator, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Global , this exploratory research project will employ a number of appropriate research methods including systematic literature review, semi-structured interviews, focus groups and documentation analysis to produce an outline specification for a prototype tool to gums the successful design of innovation networks.
