Summary on Grant Application Form |
Europe leads the world in the development and use of formal methods for critical computer-based systems. However there has been no well-funded coordinated European-wide effort to promote the use of formal methods, aid researchers in creating links between existing centres of excellence and with industry, to improve the technology transfer process. The network will address issues such as standards, web-based technologies, tools, integration with other approaches, the relationship to testing, refinement to code, etc. Activities will include transfer of researchers, workshops, support of conferences, training, technology transfer, etc. The Network will help ensure coordination of many activities that are currently underway separtely and will also foster new initiatives, especially to encourage the industrialization of approaches in an appropriate manner. This initial proposal is to provide travel funding for establishing the Network by liaising with proposed partners and writing a proposal for submission to the CEC.
