Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposal will set up and develop over three years a self-sustaining Network for Heat Powered Cycles with the main purpose of creating and maintaining an internationally competitive UK industry. Specific objectives of the proposed network are as above. The network will organise training workshops, seminars and research exchanges, as well as specialised events focused on industrial liaison, e.g., the involvement of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in research, proposal writing, research methods, peer review and the sharing of best practices between members. The proposed network will provide a timely and cost-effective opportunity to raise the research profile of heat powered cycles and increase the competitiveness of UK industry. The network will create a focus for research, technology transfer and dissemination strategy for heat powered cycle research and development in the built environment. The network will bring together academic research groups, industry and government departments to work together with the aim of creating new business opportunities in the UK. The network will also aim to increase public awareness of the environmental benefits of heat powered cycles.
