Summary on Grant Application Form
The aim of this consortium is to undertake research with a number of local authorities and related organisations to achieve a step change in their development and delivery of sustainable integrated urban transport and land use strategies. The main product will be a suite of novel and enhanced design, appraisal and implementation tools. In developing these we will also achieve an increased understanding of the contribution of current and future policy interventions, a sound basis for the design of integrated approaches, and more effective ways of involving stakeholders in the process. The objectives of the main project will be to define the fundamental principles of integration of transport and land use interventions, to enhance and extend the range of decision support tools available, to develop support tools for implementation, to generate, with other consortia, a consistent set of quality of life indicators, and to develop interactive methods for enhancing stakeholder participation. This proposal is for a scoping study; its objectives are listed above.
