Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aim is twofold (1) To undertake a feasibility study on improving knowledge creation, transfer within and between organisations, and application, in the context of glass recycling. It will track and analyse how different users with differing perspectives and differing application contexts access, map, and use knowledge on GLASS RECYCLING. The outcome will be an analysis of the feasibility to systematically discriminate knowledge according to user needs profiles whilst preserving the resilence and comprehensiveness needed to confidently map knowledge across complex real world sustainability issues. The consortium represents all the key stakeholders needed to do this - originators, intermediate customers and communicators of knowledge, plus end-users such as contractors, materials suppliers, and clients. Also experts on knowledge management and knowledge taxonomies, and wastenet, the information system and portal for waste and other resource-chain related research. (2)To undertake a parallel scoping study on the systematic management of knowledge mapping, communication and application across complex user and contract chains. The research will case study the implementation of a key sustainability initative by NHSScotland, their new environmental management code 'GreenCode' which is their keystone environmental sustainability tool for the roll-out of their mandatory Project Management System for all NHSScotland Trusts. The research will study the scope to develop the robust management protocols required to map sustainability knowledge with discrimination to ensure consistent uptake.
