The DISTILLATE research proposal, to be submitted in July 2003, will involve research with a number of Local Authorities and other organisations to achieve a step change in their development and delivery of sustainable urban transport and land use strategies. The research outcomes will increase understanding of the contribution of the policy interventions available, the development of enhanced design, appraisal and implementation tools, and more effective ways of involving stakeholders in the process.
