Summary on Grant Application Form |
This proposal involves research groups at Sa ford, Glasgow and Cambridge Universities. The research builds on collaboration already established within an EPSRC Network (on Nonlinear Magneto-optics). We shall design and produce immediately applicable device demonstrators. Specifically, we shall create novel, low power consumption, linear magneto-optic device structures, integrated with semiconductor lasers and also some bistable device structures, which would revolutionize the technology of all-optical switching.
