Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposed research will be based on the themes (i) - (iii) given in 'Objectives' above, hinging on complete AVM modelling only at first. The model there involves a fundamental new problem scientifically as well as in surgical terms (strokes), needing difficult novel analysis followed by reducedsystem computation, including nonlinear coupled ODES and PDEs, to explain detailed changes in topology and creation of high or low throughput. Realistic effects to be added analytically are especially for network effects and interactions. The mathematical models will be compared and scrutinized through the clinical linkage with a range of neuroradiological imaging modalities, to highlight surgical strategies, as well as being used to predict alterations in haemodynamic behaviour due to geometric properties, in preparation for the identified exploitation route particularly in network modelling cases.
