Summary on Grant Application Form
Schur algebras are fundamental tools in representation theory of general linear groups. They can be defined in different ways, through their representation theory, through their action on tensor space, through Schur-Weyl duality or as quotients of enveloping algebras. When generalizing these definitions to other algebraic groups, different definitions may yield different Schur algebras. The project will study Schur algebras arising from the tensor space definition, aiming at determining their structural properties and at comparing them with other Schur algebras.
