Summary on Grant Application Form |
The Collaborative Computational Project on Molecular Quantum Dynamics (CCP6) is comprised of 18 research groups who collaborate to mainatin the United Kingdoms high international standing in this essential research area. We apply for funds to permit the continuation of this collaboration and to fund a physics-based research project. The project will develop a coherent set of programs for analysing and interpreting numerical scattering data for a wide range of atom-diatom systems. It deals with physical aspects of atom-diatom scattering and involves numerical implementation of the techniques (Pade resonstruction, Regge poles analysis) previously employed in particle physics. The project will produce well documented computational codes to enable cutting edge research and apply the the codes to scientific problems of great current interest, including the recently discovered of scattering resonances in the benchmark H+D2 system. Our collaboration will be directed at the development of efficient user-friendly codes which will contribute to considerable expertise of CCP6 in the field of atomic and molecular collisions. The computer codes will be distributed through our computer program library.
