This is an international travel grant proposal to enable (1) Loughborough researchers to visit NC State University, Raleigh, North Carolina for periods of 8-12 weeks to use their excellent research facilities and interact with researchers of the host institution, and (2) the Investigator to make short visits to the CoT to attend research progress and review meetings. College of Textiles (CoT) at the NC State University is one of the world's top institutions in its field. Investigator has established a strong link with the CoT and acts as joint investigator on two NC Sate University based research projects. Two researchers at Loughborough work on research projects that could significantly benefit from using CoT facilities and interacting with staff working in similar research projects. This could enhance their research experience and professional development. Loughborough research group would also immensely benefit from consolidating and further expanding the collaborative research activities, exploiting opportunities for funding form US sources for research based at Loughborough and hence further raising its international profile.
