Summary on Grant Application Form |
The development of new asymmetric copper- and iron-catalysed reactions for the direct allylic oxidationof simple alkenes and propargylic oxidation of alkynes is outlined in the proposal. The research programme will involve the synthesis of a wide range of chiral copper and iron complexes and screening of these complexes as asymmetric oxidation catalysts. The application of the new catlytic oxidation reactions to the synthesis of allyic amines, amino acida and GABA inhibitors is also proposed.
