The UK and Europe are committed to increasing the use of renewable/sustainable energy technologies for future generations. It is therefore especially important that young people be made aware of what is going on in this field. This is the underlying aim of the project. The intention is to capture the imagination and interest of the younger generation by presenting them with a vision of the future in an optimistic way and by providing interactive demonstrations in the form of mini-projects. This will be achieved by (a) half-day visits to the Institute of Building Technology and (b) by an interactive Web site (in collaboration with the Science Museum). The Institute has a unique collection of facilities where renewable systems are investigated and demonstrated. Two of these facilities (Marmont Renewable Energy Centre, David Wilson Eco-house) will form the base for the visits and the Web site. Specifically the funding will be used for: development of mini-projects covering a wide range of renewable technologies preparation of display material, information packs and CD-Rom development of interactive Web site for the systems in the Eco-house a number of half-day visits by small groups to the Marmont Centre
