conjugacy classes. We intend to sharpen results from our previous project on extended covering numbers and investigate for which natural classes of groups such results hold. This will lead us to consider other properties of simple algebraic groups, such as intersection of conjugacy classes with Bruhat cells (corresponding to the classical problem of canonical normal forms of matrices), as well as investigating lifting of conjugacy classes, that is obtaining information about perfect groups from information about their semisimple factor groups.
