Summary on Grant Application Form |
First principles theoretical calculations will be performed to identify surface adsorbates that possess high electron affinities, high binding energies, and low tendencies to abstract surface hydrogen from diamond. In particular, hydrocarbon species as well as fullerenes and nanotubes will be investigated. The results will be linked with experimental programmes into the origin, optimisation and characterisation of the low surface resisitivity of diamond films.
