Summary on Grant Application Form |
SummaryDescribe the proposed research in about 200 words. The programme will investigate:a) the variation in the characteristics of fibres from a range of flax accessions at different gro.vth stages .b) the effects of artificial senescence on flax fibre characteristics and processing.c) factors affecting the coiour of flax fibres and their bleaching and dyeing properties.d) best practice for fine, high value, flax fibre crop production.e) fibre cleaning and shortening processes.f) the characteristics of fibres that may be used for the identification of accessions with the potential to grow flax fibre with specific textile properties.
