Summary on Grant Application Form |
Basic studies of material ablation and resolution capabilities of a Diode Pumped Solid State Laser (DPSSL) source will be carried out to explore its suitability for micromachining specific materials of relevance to micro-device and optoelectronic component fabrication. The work will concentrate on processing silicon, copper and doped polymers using nanosecond duration pulses delivered at wavelengths of 1060, 532 or 355 run.
