Summary on Grant Application Form |
The Engineering Faculty at Loughborough is committed to conversion of its existing portfolio of 30 full-time Masters programmes to a fully flexible block taught modular structure, creating the opportunity to offer industry and the individual both full-time and part-time learning, within or without the University, and at any stage of the engineer's career. To fully establish the business feasilibitlity, particularly in terms of meeting Industrial requirements, a short term study is proposed that will generate the Industrial evidence enabling a fully detailed and justified proposal to be made to EPSRC for a comprehensive Masters Training Package (FLEXMASTER) that embraces the spectrum of Posrgraduate teaching within the Engineering Faculty at Loughborough. This will be achieved through a pilot implementation of a generic cross sector module and derivation of the structured process of creating and delivering such a module. In parallel an intensive programme of consultation with Industry will take place to ensure that the Faculty's offering is designed and developed to meet the needs and timescales of Industry.
