Summary on Grant Application Form |
The ultimate goal in 3G mobile telecommunication systems is to offer high capacity broadband networks which can support high data rate as well as speech users. The capacity and Quality of Service are directly related to MAI. It is therefore essential to use advanced interference cancellation and reduction techniques including adaptive array beam forming and power control integrated within the same system design. Thus the proposed research is concerned with the design of joint array beam forming and power control for capacity improvements in CDMA systems. Included in the work programme is the systems studies to completely validate the proposed schemes. Reconfigurable software radio architectures will also be developed for the possible implementation of the joint schemes and they will be used in novel studies pertaining to capacity improvements and Quality of Service.
