Summary on Grant Application Form
The network to be financed by this proposal will meet the objectives stated above by focusing upon the questions of the role of innovation brokers in the construction industry innovation system. The international collaborative relationships already established within TG35 mean that this is a low-risk international collaboration, producing an important body of data and analysis which will be of considerable benefit to researchers and policy-makers. INCONIN will run for two years starting in June 2001. It will be launched at TG35's Ottawa conference, and the first full meeting will take place in the autumn of that year. Meetings will then follow at approximately six monthly intervals - five in all - finishing in May 2003. This rhythm of meetings follows that already employed by TG35. These, meetings, where possible, coincide in time and place with meetings of CIB in order to maximise participation, and it is intended to follow this practice for INCONIN. Typical attendance at these TG35 working meetings has been around 10 people from abroad, and a similar number from the host country. In order to maximise UK participation in the network, two of the INCONIN meetings will be held in the UK using the N + N format. These will provide the start and finish points for the programme of work. Without this support from EPSRC for the secretariat, this valuable programme of work would cease next year with the Ottawa conference.
